Are you Ready for Chrome OS?

Without going into details about what the Chrome OS is (For more details, check out The Chromium Projects), perhaps you should hear about the benefits from an average user perspective. For starters, expect 10 secs or less startup time from the time the power button is pushed to the time it’s ready for you to surf the web, lightening fast overall response time, simple user friendly interface, and best of all totally free! Simply put, the Chrome OS is designed to get the user to the web with the least amount of time and resources possible. Like the iPhone or Android, expect millions of free and paid apps to be available when the official build of the OS is ready towards the end of this year. Luckily, unofficial releases of the OS is available for download now. Please check out the links below:

Interestingly, you don’t need another machine to try the Chrome OS, it can run off an USB thumb drive or on a CD. If you’re feeling adventurous, try out the virtual image downloads to load Chome OS as a guest operating system along with whatever operating system you’re using to run concurrently. Detailed instructions on each build is available on the download pages. Please be sure to read up on the FAQ and instructions prior to installation. Have fun and please leave us some feedback on what you think.
